What is running today
The public static website is online. Customer mail, account, payment and backup services have not been deployed to production. The operational data above covers only this website at the manifest's observation time.
The hosting provider's contractual identity, the specific data centre, actual data location, ownership and subprocessors have not yet been confirmed. The DNS operator also still needs to be confirmed. The website is operated by patchletter UG (haftungsbeschränkt) in Gelsenkirchen, Germany; full details are in the imprint. An IP address or a planned provider does not establish a complete EU supply chain.
Our goal for the mail service
| Level | Goal | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Data | customer data exclusively in the EU | mail service has not launched |
| Infrastructure | servers, storage, backups and DNS with verified EU providers | provider selection and contract review remain open |
| Operations | company and staff with production access in the EU | operator: patchletter UG in Germany; further operational evidence remains open |
| Software | self-hosted open-source software and own code in the data path | website is live; mail components are in the lab or planned |
| Supply chain | European operations, support and payment services; disclose exceptions | review services and dependencies before launch |
These goals do not confirm that the planned infrastructure already exists. An independent backup with another provider and a second production location have not been set up.
Providers under consideration
For the future mail platform, candidates include Hetzner and Scaleway for servers, RcodeZero for DNS, and Mollie or Adyen for payments. These are planning candidates, not a list of providers already processing customer data. Locations, ownership, subprocessors and contract terms need to be reviewed before selection.
Disclosing dependencies
This website loads fonts, images and styles from its own server. It contains no JavaScript and embeds no third-party resources. That describes its behaviour in the browser; it is not complete evidence of the origin of every server component.
The public TLS trust chain, hardware origins and software supply chain require further assessment. Operating-system package and development-tool downloads must be distinguished from visitor requests.
Mobile apps, push notifications and payment features have not been released. Dependencies on app stores, Apple push services or card networks will be assessed when those features are implemented. Mail notifications and customer payments are not currently offered through them.
